Selamat Menyambut Merdeka 2009.

I like this song...although it's originally is meant for KL 98 Commenwealth Games, but i think it's a good song for our country, something to make us proud of being a malaysian.

I used to be proud to be a malaysian, especially in my secondary school days. during Mahathir's time, whereby our country have alot of mega projects and we're able to steer our country out of the 97 economic crisis in our own ways.

Maybe those days of singing Negaraku weekly in school assembly and non-working life has those effects of making you a little bit more patriotic. I don't think i can say that now i'm just too involved in working life without having care at all to be patriotic or not. it's just that, as you can older and you get to know more things, especially bad news about your own country....that would make you lose faith in it.

For example after hearing news that say we're actually more develop than South Korea in the 60-70s...but look at them and look at us now. Singapore have no natural resources whereby Malaysia have plenty of them...but look at them and look at us now. It all comes down to managment.

Yes, of course we should be thankfull that we live in a harmonious society, if compare to Israel Palentine, Indonesia, Thailand...at least we don't have any violent racial riot since 1969. But then i believe we are more capable than that, we still have so much potential but sometimes....mismanagement just put them to waste. A lot of bright Malaysian talent prefered to work overseas not because they don't love our country but is more mainly because they find it not worth for them either economically, socially or politically to remain and work locally.

Government should pe more prudent to study other countries policy and compared it with ours, and should be brave to make changes where accordingly. Yes, unity is very important, but i find it unfair and sometimes silly for government to almost say something like no..no..you can't do this..this will ruin the unity of the country...blah blah blah...

Sometimes i feel like as long as the government think that if there's no racial riot, then we've no need to make changes for improvement and therefore developement slows down. Unity should be just the first stepping stone of many more good things to come. I believe we can do better.

Wishing Malaysia a happy 52th Birthday and a better future:)

P.S. Sign...i wonder how's Petronas or TNB Merdeka Advertisment without Yasmin Ahmad...

Rocket United

walk by SS2 and discovered this shop. At first i thought it's a place for football fans to gather...cos Manchester United pop out from my head. then at second glance i see all the pictures of DAP...then i know it's a DAP shop.

Its feels like a very political driven concept (very obvious) and frankly I do feel a bit of discomfort as I walk pass the stall. It does not have the warm welcoming feeling of most coffee shop do.

But then I was driven by curiosity, after all, I’ve never seen or been to such store before. Then my mind starts thinking…hmm…what would their menu be like? Rocket Char-Kuey Tiaw? Rocket Fried Rice? Or Rocket Super Lunch Set~ guarantee to rocket you to the sky~~etc…etc…and suddenly it feels like fun!

The café started business since 8th August 2009. And the menu…first page explain a little history of forming of DAP…and the food list....Nope...there’s no Rocket Char-Kuey Tiaw or Rocket something something....just ordinary café food and drinks.

The price I think is slightly a bit high but it’s still normal price range for those food café in SS2. The food taste ok too. Just ok, not super nice or special.

The 1st floor has better looking and design! They got this big sofa whereby you can lay down and eat!

I think when next time there’s a DAP talk in town, it would be held there. So if you’re disgruntled with the government you can go to this place to eat and talk about politics with your friends as the environment would give you a mood to do so:P
But then, political oriented café may only appear to certain demographic of people so I’m not sure whether it’s really going to be a successfully business.

Then again, maybe their ultimate goal is not business but instead it’s politics. Would we be seeing any PAS café or UMNO café in future?

Home Coming 2009

It's been around 6 month since i last went home. last trip back home was during CNY early this year. the feeling's totally different thought, CNY it feels like it's compulsory to go home for everyone, but this time, for me it feels like i wanna go home is only because i wanna go home.

Haha, the only setback when i get home is that the haze is terrible there during my trip back. it's already been two weeks since the last rain. supermarket has already ran out of stock of 5 litre mineral water. luckly on the day before i left, it finally rains.

I truly believe in the quote “there’s no place like home” All those familiar things that you grow up with, that you spend most of your time with, all the familiar faces and your family’s activity…..all those familiar things will surely warm you up, especially if you haven’t been home awhile and you’re living outside far away from home.

Among the changes that I discovered is that my backyard has become a shelter home for kittens, which is a work of my bro. I absolutely believe that he got influenced too much by the cuteness of kittens in anime that made him do this.

Wwah..long time didn't go to sunday market already. oh..for those of you not from kuching..we have a market whereby most ethic people came out from their kampungs to set up stalls to sell local goods in the weekends,so people called it sunday market.

Bamboo shoots.... hmm...i don't know whether if i spelled it correctly.

This is called "Nam". i missed it...i think it's only available locally and it's abit expensive too but is nice to eat.

Hhmmm...i think KL here the sugarcane color is not as thick as those in kch...at first i thought they put too much water and dilute it but then it maybe different species gua...

I remember i've one such toy from dad when i'm young and dad shows me how to play it at the red plastic bath tub at my old home....it has a small motor inside whereby you use candle to lit it to run it...haha..really brings back happy childhood memories. i'm suprise my bro remembered it too!

My mum on the other hand has become a champion for recycling, which I think is good. Hmm….i don’t know where she get that influence from or if it’s self-motivated but nevertheless it’s a good thing. There’s a box to keep empty clean plastic bottles, the food waste we threw into a covered cylinder in backyard where it would use to become fertilizer for the vegetables planted in backyard. Other plastic product if it’s clean will be put into another bag. Clean waste papers will be stuffed between newspapers that are sold to the old newspaper uncle. When going to Sunday Market to buy stuff, she’ll put it in a reusable bag instead of using plastic bag. Hmmm….all these little actions will minimize the amount of rubbish thrown to the rubbish bin and make the world a little bit better:)

I miss my afternoon nap at my old house. It is very nice to have an afternoon nap at my old house because the sofa is situated just below the ceiling fan and once you close your eyes it’ll need you to take some effort to wake up, especially if you sleep like a pig:P oohh…I love it so much. That sofa also becomes my bed during my trip back. I didn’t sleep in my old bedroom as it is not as cooling as the living room sofa.

Haha, help my friend to do promo abit. This is my friend's fried mushroom stall, They've a stall operating in 101 avenue as well.

I was lucky as Kuching Festival is around when I’m back, furthermore my friend’s is operating at one of the stall there. But due to haze + H1N1…there’s lesser people going there this time….Sign…. means less Kuching mei mei to look at.

Kuching's South District Office, i think it looks like a blue hat:)

One little thing I regret I didn’t get to do is to sing k. instead I feel that I’ve spend too much time playing DOTA>_<. Yeah….although it’s fun to play with my old buddies, but if do more variety would make things more interesting right. Too bad I still need to bring back some of my work to do at home, else it will be a perfect no-work-just-play trip.

This is me posing in of an auction billboard in front of my ex-company, as you can see, they use me as a model for the auction billboard, it's beside the BDC roundabout, coming out from Hui Sing side. so please drop by and see if you pass by there, haha:P

I’m glad that things didn’t change much in Kuching… I miss Kuching a lot when I’m in KL. When I’m back in Kuching I rarely miss KL at all as it feels like I went back to time and I’ve never been to KL to work..haha, this homecoming was an enjoyable and relaxing one. Feel that I’m getting recharge up to undergo the challenges of life back in KL. I guess I should come home more then!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S. while I’m on the plane looking at air stewardess doing the flight security awareness stuff, I suddenly wonder if they could actually make it more interesting, like turning on the music and sing and dance while doing it? I’m serious! Maybe I should suggest this to Mr. Fernandes.

The Ice-Cream Maker

Went to Daiso shop in The Curve which sells everything at RM5 and I bought back this:

Ta-Da~~~… an ice-cream maker! Hohoho, I was very happy when I saw it and I know I must get it!

A long time ago, I have such thing in my old home and I use it to make custom made ice-cream not available in the market such as ribena ice-cream, cola ice-cream, sarsi ice-cream, air ular ice-cream…and all the soft drinks that I can lay my hands on during that time.

It’s actually very easy to use, just pour the liquid into the models and put it on top of the refrigerator for 1 day, then pull it out and it’s ready to be eaten. oh ya...when pulling you mustn't use brute force or sometimes you'll only pull out the sticks and the ice-cream would still be left inside the model.

Hmm…if you prefer to eat soft-flake ice-cream you only need to freeze for 2 hours:P

See those round tube that pointed out side ways? it actually has its usage as well. when you make the ice-cream, it will make sure the abundant water/liquid part will flow out when you insert the cover into the model. when you eat the ice-cream, you can suck the remaining water from the ice-cream through that round tube.

This time I’m trying something new again ->Green bean soup ice-cream!Wahahahaha….taste not bad~ taste not too sweet and it's healthy some more.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other day i've tried Barli ice-cream but i've put in the fridge abit too long and the barli, although frozen tasted sour already. hmm..so i think don't leave it for more than 3 days:P
